Cookie policy

In accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (“General Data Protection Regulation”) and Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 (“Code regarding the protection of personal data”), and pursuant to the provisions of the Italian Data Protection Authority n. 229 of 8 May 2014 and n. 231 of 10 June 2021, the Data Controller Industria Chimica Reggiana – ICR S.p.A., with registered office in Reggio Emilia, via M. Gasparini n. 7, Tax Code and VAT No. 00140910357, in the person of the legal representative, provides to the users of some information relating to cookies used by it.

What are cookies?

“Cookies” are small text files, created automatically at the time of access to a given site, whose purpose is to perform computer authentication, session tracking and storing information specific to the user and his visit.

More specifically, cookies are sent by the server (physical location where the site resides) of the website visited to the user’s browser (Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.), are stored locally on the computer of the latter, to then be re-transmitted, at the next visit, to the same site.

During navigation, the user might receive on his terminal even cookies on external sites (third party cookies), set and used by their owners, in the manner and according to the objectives defined by them.

Cookies may finally remain on long periods or for shorter periods of ’user computers, depending on their characteristics.

Types of cookies.

Session cookiesTheir duration corresponds to the use of the browser session and are automatically erased at the end of it.
Persistent cookiesThese are constant and remain stored on the terminal even after the browser session, up to the scheduled expiration date.
First-party cookiesThey belong to the visited website, which transmits them directly to the visitor.
Third-party cookiesThey come from third party sites. On them and on their related information the owner of this website visited has no control. Their eventual disabling does not affect in any way the navigability.

The use of these cookies is governed by rules drawn up by third parties and, therefore, to manage or disable these cookies users must read the privacy information published on the websites of these third parties.

Cookie categories.

Technical cookies:

Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service (Article 122, paragraph 1 of the Code regarding the protection of personal data).

Technical cookies are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or manager. No consent from the interested party is required for their use.

They can be divided into:

– navigation or session cookies (or strictly necessary), which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas);

– analytical (or measurement) cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site, as well as for statistical analysis on the display of the pages and to monitor its correct functioning;

– functionality cookies (for simple interactions or functionalities), which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the same.
